Citadel, Palace

Vinh Hung Ancient Tower

Location: The tower is situated in Vinh Hung Commune, Vinh Loi District, about 20km from Bac Lieu Town, Bac Lieu Province. Characteristics: The tower is the only structure in style of Angkor of Khmer people preserved in the Mekong Delta. 

Dien Khanh Citadel

Location: Dien Khanh Citadel is situated on Dien Khanh Townlet, Dien Khanh District, Khanh Hoa Province. Characteristic: The Dien Khanh Citadel was built by Nguyen Anh in 1793 with an area of 36,000 square meters according to the Vauban military architecture which was popular in Western Europe in 17th - 18th centuries

Son Tay Citadel

Location: In Son Tay Town, Ha Tay Province, about 40km from Hanoi City. Characteristics: Body of the wall was built of hard sandstone with one gate on each side.  

Xuong Giang Ancient Citadel

Location: Xuong Giang Ancient Citadel is in Xuong Giang Commune, Bac Giang City, Bac Giang Province. Characteristic: Xuong Giang is the name of the old citadel built by Ming troops in the 15th century. 

Throne Palace (Dien Thai Hoa) and Great Rites Court

Location: Throne Palace (Dien Thai Hoa) faces the Ngo Mon Gate and lies right on the central axis of the Hue Citadel. Characteristic: The Throne Palace, or Palace of the Supreme Harmony, was the building for great court's meetings. It was constructed in 1805 by Emperor Gia Long and used later in 1806 for his coronation. 

Royal Library (Thai Binh Lau)

Location: Royal Library is located in the Forbidden Citadel. Characteristic: The Royal Library was the only monument undamaged in the Forbidden Citadel after the reoccupation of Hue by French troops in early 1947. It is the pavilion where the Emperors Nguyen came for reading and resting. 

Hue Citadel

Location: Hue Citadel is situated on the Northern bank of the Perfume River. Characteristic: With an area of 500ha and a system of three circles of ramparts, namely from outside to inside: Kinh Thanh Hue (Hue Capital Citadel), Hoang Thanh (Royal Citadel) and Tu Cam Thanh (Forbidden Citadel). 

Co Loa Historical Site

Location: This relic of an ancient urban area and military citadel is located in Co Loa Village, Dong Anh District, Hanoi. Characteristic: Throughout history, Co Loa was nominated twice as the capital of Vietnam: the first time during the An Duong Vuong era in the late 3rd and early 2nd century BC, and the second time during the Ngo Vuong Quyen reign in the middle of the 10th century.
